Syndicated daytime show ‘Face the Truth’ to feature STL native Areva Martin, series premieres Sept. 10 on KPLR 11

September 8, 2018

“I didn’t know exactly what was going to come of it, but I knew sitting there that something magical was happening,” attorney, advocate, author and St. Louis native Areva Martin told The American when she spoke of her of her first visit on “The Dr. Phil Show” several years ago. “And I knew having a voice in the media would allow me to reach more people, touch more people and connect with more people.”

Since that first appearance, Martin has gone on to become a trusted source on a myriad of topics from advocacy for children with special needs to social justice – and has been a regular contributor on CNN, MSNBC, “Dr. Phil,” “The Doctors” and more.

Thanks to “Face the Truth,” a new syndicated daytime show from Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions, Martin will be using her voice to reach, touch and connect with viewers each weekday. The show premieres September 10, 2018 and will air weekdays at 1 p.m. on KPLR-11.

Martin will sit alongside actress and producer Vivica A. Fox, who will lead a diverse “Truth Team” of experts that also includes Judge Mary Chrzanowski aka “Scary Mary,” clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Judy Ho and model, life coach and single mom Rosie Mercado.

“‘Face the Truth’ is an exciting, dynamic show that bridges the gap between quality television and the exploitive voyeuristic television that people are stuck with now,” said Dr. Phil McGraw, who serves as Executive Producer for the show. “It’s meaningful conflict with instructive resolution.”

On each episode, real people present their problems big and small to the hosts in search of solutions. The panel offers their opinion on issues ranging from dating and relationships to bad habits to parenting, and studio and at-home audiences weigh in on the conversation and vote on who is right and who is wrong.

“‘Face the Truth’ is a fresh addition to the television landscape,” said Jay McGraw, Executive Producer and President and CEO of Stage 29 Productions. “We have an incredibly talented cast with strong opinions who deliver a show that is entertaining, informative and highly watchable.”

Special guests and celebrities will also make appearances throughout the season.

“We are trying to change people’s lives for the better,” Fox said. “We have guests from all walks of life and we help them face the truth – straight up, no chaser.”

‘Face the Truth’ will air weekdays at 1 p.m. on KPLR TV 11 starting Monday, September 10. For additional information about the show, visit www.facethetruthtv.com.
