On September 9th 2022, Areva Martin was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Salute to Women in Leadership Gala hosted by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. The award is presented to outstanding women who create opportunities for ‘disadvantaged and overlooked individuals and communities.’
Maxine Waters, a St. Louis native like Areva, sent a special message where she congratulated Areva on her momentous accomplishments saying, “[Areva’s] most recent, extraordinary advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities” has made a positive impact in her district, changes that are rippling across California and the U.S.
Areva is proud to sit among the list of leaders like Xernona Clayton, Chaka Khan, Angela Winbush, Melba Moore, Susan L Taylor, Sheryl Lee Ralph and many other notable women.
